About us
Deion Leron-Charlery and Scott Mayers have been friends for over 15 years, but their story began as rivals on the basketball court in middle school. Growing up in Ottawa, Ontario, with Caribbean roots, their competition soon turned into teamwork, and along the way, they discovered a shared passion for film.
That love for cinema always lingered in their conversations, but it wasn’t until a back-and-forth text exchange about a South Korean movie—combined with a thought-provoking comment from a friend—that the idea for The Film Room Podcast was born. What started as casual debates evolved into a platform where they break down movies, challenge perspectives, make jokes and bring their unique chemistry to film discussions.
